2 Easy Ways to Measure Your Ring Size at Home

2 Easy Ways to Measure Your Ring Size at Home

If you're looking to determine your ring size without going to a jewellery store, we’ve got two straightforward methods broken down into simple steps for you to try right at home.

1. The Traditional Method

Measuring your ring size the traditional way is particularly useful if you don’t have a ring that fits the desired finger. It’s incredibly straightforward—just grab a piece of string or paper. Follow this easy six-step guide to measure your ring size comfortably at home, to guarantee you find the perfect fit before making a new purchase.

Step 1: Gather Your Materials

To start, you’ll need the following items, which luckily enough, you most likely have lying around your house: a strip of paper or string, a ruler or measuring tape, and a pair of scissors.

Step 2: Create Your Measuring Tool

If you’re using paper, cut a strip about 10-15 cm long (this length is easy to wrap around your finger). If you opt for string, make sure it’s long enough to wrap around comfortably.

Step 3: Find Your Finger’s Base

Choose the finger you want to measure, as different fingers can have different sizes. With your other hand, wrap the paper or string around the base of that finger. As you do this, pay attention to how it feels; it should be snug but not tight, allowing for some comfort.

Step 4: Mark the Overlap

Once you’ve wrapped the string or paper around your finger, mark where it overlaps.

Step 5: Measure Your Strip

Lay the marked strip flat and measure the length with your ruler or measuring tape. This measurement gives you the circumference of your finger.

Step 6: Refer to a Size Chart

With your measurement in hand, use a ring size chart to find your ring size. Here’s our ring size chart for reference:
